Banker advocates CPR literacy after hands-on experience at KLIA

After experiencing a “heart-stopping” moment at KL International Airport, banker Emily Au Kay advocates for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) literacy to be shared more widely.

“I volunteered to help resuscitate the man together with paramedics using the skills I learned from MMC as well as from St. John’s Ambulance, previously.

“We can handle emergencies more skilfully and calmly by attending CPR courses,” she added.

Many people are more confident in performing CPR in real life if they have attended a CPR course.

Bystander CPR is very important as we never know who will collapse in front of us due to cardiac arrest. CPR must be performed immediately or else within minutes, the body and brain received no oxygen circulation and casualty can die.

It therefore became my personal mission to teach CPR+AED skills so more lives can be saved.
